The problem
Healthcare organisations generate vast amounts of data, yet clinicians and managers often struggle to access the insight they need when they need it. Information is spread across clinical systems, operational tools and reporting platforms, and joining it up safely is difficult.
At the same time, services face rising demand, workforce pressures and the need to make every resource count. Better use of data could help predict demand, identify patients who may benefit from earlier intervention and plan capacity more effectively, but only if it is done securely, ethically and transparently.
What we are building
We are exploring an AI-enabled analytics platform that helps healthcare teams turn data into timely, trustworthy insight. Our current thinking includes:
- A secure data foundation that brings together clinical and operational data with strong access controls and full audit trails
- Privacy by design, including pseudonymisation, data minimisation and alignment with UK GDPR and NHS data security standards
- Predictive analytics to support demand forecasting, patient flow and capacity planning
- Explainable AI so clinicians and managers can understand why a model has made a recommendation
- Intuitive dashboards designed with frontline staff, not just analysts
Clinical judgement remains central. The platform is intended to support decision making, never to replace it.
Where we are now
The project is in discovery. We are working to understand user needs, data availability and governance requirements, and to identify the use cases where AI can deliver the clearest, safest benefit.
